The Midrash teaches us that when the Jewish Nation sang אז ישיר, the Song at the Sea, they had all their sins forgiven. Why?
Shem MiShmuel explains that sin and sin consciousness can only exist when one is in a low state of mind and feeling disconnected from Hashem. When one is connected to Hashem he has the consciousness that all is good, all is Godly. There is no place for sin, it simply doesn't exist.
The connection they felt to Hashem as they sang brought them to the point where they were so connected to Him that they were completely separated from sin consciousness and their sins were gone.
