The first step towards the freeing of the Jewish Nation from slavery was "And the children of Israel sighed from their slavery."The first step towards freeing oneself from psychological slavery is the realization that one is enslaved - the realization that the situation in which one finds his or herself is not an acceptable situation. This opening of the eyes is the most important step towards freedom. It is only with this realization that someone can now proceed to plan and to figure out how to get out of the situation of slavery.
