Why does Paroh find himself controlling the mouth and neck? I was thinking of the following possibility. The power of speech is found in the larynx which is at the juncture of the head and the body. The reason for this location is explained as being due to the fact that the power of speech is the ability to take spiritual concepts and bring them forth in the physical world. It is for this reason that the location of this ability is in the neck, where the head, the spiritual locus of the person, connects to the rest of his body, the seat of his physical self.
Paroh was the King of Egypt-Mitzryaim (מצרים). We are taught that the word Mitzrayim is rooted in Metzar (מצר), meaning boundary. Perhaps we can suggest that his power over boundaries, represented in the name of his nation, caused the center of his power to be concentrated by the boundary between the physical and spiritual man.
